Abstract

Affected by the weak global economy, the global mainstream notebook PC market (notebook PCs with sizes above 10.4") only had a moderate performance in the third quarter of 2008. Demand for notebook PCs in emerging markets was still strong. Furthermore, some branded vendors rolled out low-price promotions, prices for upstream materials of battery cores fell slightly and production capacity also gradually rebounded. These factors provided a certain degree of growth momentum for the overall market.
